‘What’s it like for HR people right now?’

I quote a frazzled HRBP. As well as HR having to respond to new developments almost daily, line managers are needing massive support. Will it ever ease off for HR?

There’s still a long way to go before things get back to anything like normal – and then there will be a myriad of longer term projects to tackle all the implications. Flexible working is well underway, and there are likely to be change to roles and structures too going forward.

What’s it like for HR people right now? I’ve heard from some who feel rather isolated; the massive workload gives little time for social contact or team support, and long hours are impacting on home life too. Getting everyone re-aligned, re-energised and re-inspired could be a valuable use of time.

Let’s celebrate HR’s achievements, and build a story that you can use to ensure that HR’s reputation is built as strategic partners as well as operational paramedics.
