HR business partnering is more than a job title – it’s a sophisticated skillset, a results-oriented attitude and a genuine curiosity and appetite for getting under the skin of what drives business success.
It’s also a journey, because you don’t achieve it overnight. In many organisations HR business partnering is falling short of its full potential. Partnering is a two-way street, and so a core element in partnering is to shift the nature of the relationship between HR and the business.
As the HRBP, it can be really tough to create this shift. Your line leaders and managers are probably quite happy with having you fix their problems for them. However, you know that you can deliver more.
