What is Agile HR?

Think of the most frustrating part of your job, and/or the thing that your stakeholders complain about most – and imagine how great it would feel to fix it.

What would be at the top of your list of hassle factors that you’d like to sort out?

Here are some of the things that I’ve learned about Agile HR:

  • You don’t do it on your own. You pull together a cross-functional team of people who’ll help you to get the right result and then make it work;
  • There’s a whole set of tools that make complete sense and you’ll use forever;
  • It’s a mindset as well as an approach, and you’ll need to think about the cultural implications for your team. On the other hand, it’s a great excuse to get a more flexible, responsive culture in place;
  • You can start with just one project and learn as you go;
  • Your business stakeholders will welcome your new attitude with open arms.
  • So, it fits completely with our mission to help HR to add more value to the business.

You have to meet someone like Kate Maddison-Greenwell MCIPD to actually ‘get’ what Agile in HR means.

Kate and I have created a 3-hour workshop ‘How to make Agile in HR work for you‘. It sets out the potential of Agile in HR, the reality of making it work, and a clear path forward.

We’ve got 3 core themes:

  • Building the business case and getting key stakeholders on board;
  • The wider implications – what Agile means for the culture and leadership of the HR team;
  • The practicalities of the structure and tools of Agile, and how to get started.
