I know I may be banging an old drum, HR and business, and yes it is one I have written about here before. But I can’t help it. You see I loved Economics at A level and then studied Business Studies and Finance where I took the HR options so this might account for it all! So when I read an article in Spring 2015 Work. magazine, and yes the full stop should be there, where they interviewed Dave Ulrich. I couldn’t help being drawn to a challenge he posed
“Do HR people have front of mind the business or the business of HR? “. He went on to say that the good HR people develop a repertoire of skills that enable them to move in different places.
The challenge I took away for myself and one I pose to you reading this is; are you constantly developing your repertoire and moving into different places – it got me thinking I hope it does you too.
