An experienced Chief People Officer with 25 years’ international Board level experience, managing complex business transformation to design, deliver and enable new structures and capabilities. Background in large corporates going through change (including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures) and scale-up private equity backed businesses across a variety of sectors including Digital Telco, Software, FMCG, Logistics and Education. Rupert was most recently People Director at Virgin Media O2 in the UK focussed on the build out of digital transformation capabilities following 15 years living and working abroad in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
During his career, Rupert has led global HR teams of 100+ professionals across six continents in a variety of different operating models, always with a passion for business partnering, talent management and organisation development (Change). Rupert continues to be an advocate for the growing impact of the People function and is a mentor and coach to a number of ambitious leaders embarking on international careers aspiring to the CPO role. As a life-long practitioner, Rupert’s style as a consultant is to embrace the messy realities of the business situation and to work in service of the capability and credibility of the People function as clients.
Rupert is a certified executive coach, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and holds a Master’s Degree in HR and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Rupert is currently writing a book on the knowing-doing gap in the leadership of change.
