Positive practices create positive results
‘Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right‘, said Henry Ford.
We all know that when we go into something full of confidence we’re much more likely to succeed. A major presentation, say, or a key meeting. We also know that it’s important to prepare – so we do.
When we want to build our credibility and our stature, however, the micro-moments matter as much as the big events. For example, how we respond when someone disagrees with us one-to-one, or when we ourselves want to state a position that goes against the prevailing momentum in a meeting.
We can prepare for those as much as for the big events, and create new positive habits from the practices that work for us.
By practices I mean the things that we ACTUALLY do – not what we want to do, know we should do or wish we had done. By examining those, and the results we get, we can learn and develop more effective practices that get more rewarding results.
Those positive practices build into positive habits and deliver positive results, repeatedly.
Where do beliefs fit in?
Everywhere, actually. We can build self-belief intentionally, and we can prove it to ourselves with our results which in turn creates sustained confidence and strength.
I learn so much from my coaching clients, not least that it’s easier than you think to transform your confidence.
In what situations would you like to feel stronger?
