HR need to have strong foundations

There’s so much change and uncertainty – it’s tough to know where to start. However, one priority keeps shining through to me. Now is the time for HR to build a strong base.

We’re all learning about AI, and the implications will be enormous. I don’t think we can imagine right now what the world of work will be like in 2030.

Because it looks so impossible to anticipate, it seems easier to wait and see how it pans out. However, there are some things that we do know. We know that we need sound processes, data we can trust, so that we will be in a good position to scale and make sensible use of AI.

Right now, my conversations with clients seem to go from the strategic to the practical. From strategic partnering to process mapping, for example. They’re both critically important to HR’s future. We’ve always wanted smart processes that work, and one source of truth in our data, but other priorities have taken precedence.

Now is the time to get that sorted. You know it will make your life easier. Your CEO is more likely now to get on board with giving you the resources for that. The fascinating and rewarding aspect of this work is that, once you start tackling processes, it brings into the light issues that you know have been lurking, and you can sort those out too.

If you’d like to build your own strong foundation, build a more resilient team, or to bring your data together, let’s share experiences and ideas of how to lead HR through this complex period of change. Message me for a virtual coffee.
