How will you make sure HR drives value for your business?
Have you started to look ahead to 2026? HR aspirations are emerging – but how will you make sure your HR function is driving value for your particular business? This interesting ‘2026 State of People Strategy’ report from Lattice reveals what HR people see as the areas of focus for next year.
I’m not surprised to see Performance at the top. After a season of re-creating and consolidating how we work, I’m now sensing an increased push for faster pace and renewed focus on productivity.
However, HR’s priorities need to be informed by what your unique business actually needs, rather than what HR thinks is important.
Business needs don’t fall neatly into HR’s areas of expertise.
I welcomed the feedback from a recent client who said that, following our work, ‘our people strategy is now a list of business challenges, and we collaborate across HR to respond to them.’ Examples included geographical growth and scaling.
In our recent webinar we shared insight, tools and inspiration to help HR leaders to:
- Become more business savvy and credible with business leaders
- Shift relationships with business leaders – change HR’s narrative, and HR’s conversations
- Advocate more effectively for the HR priorities that are critical success factors for business
- Build your reputation and influence as partners in business success
- Get your HR team lined up behind business priorities.
If you want to refresh your thinking about how to become more business-led as a function, I’d love to hear from you.
