Taking opportunities to coach

I take the time to be supportive and use coaching skills when it's appropriate and helpful

Research shows that the ability to reach out to HR for support is highly valued by line leaders and managers. These opportunities often lead to coaching which adds real value to the organisation’s capabilities. Similarly, when a manager has found themself in a difficult situation, HR’s skills in coaching and exploring the situation can lead to a positive solution as well as learning. There tends to be a time dilemma in coaching – it’s much quicker to tell someone the answer to their problem than to coach them. However, coaching creates more value, higher performance, and ultimately saves HR time.
