How do you know how you’re doing and whether your efforts are focused in the right area? There are many resources available, e.g. a balanced scorecard, people analytics, engagement surveys, absence data, etc. HR must also measure the quality of relationships, as these are the enablers of most success. Regular feedback is vital, and you can build this into your regular meetings or, even better, schedule separate meetings that focus on discussing the relationship and not the work.
