This is about being your own PR person – taking a step back to consider how a project, or decision, will be regarded by stakeholders, including employees and senior leaders. Sometimes it takes quite a lot of translation, and positioning, to create an appetite for an initiative. At first glance, some HR initiatives seem cumbersome or over-engineered, and use HR jargon. Put yourself in the shoes of your stakeholders, take into account their needs, measures and their context, and challenge yourself to second-guess how they may respond. Then you can build an influencing strategy or plan.
