This has always been a challenge for HR – because (usually) you work in the areas which enable others to drive business results. HR people tend to understand implicitly, e.g. that strong and capable leadership, and high levels of engagement, or a particular L&D programme, will drive the right results. HR has to be good at explaining that to others, with data and numbers. Our success model is the first stage in clarifying this, and then our HR success model helps you to take this to the next stage. HR must explain, ‘we’re doing X because it leads to Y, and Y is vital to business because …’.
