Getting maximum impact from HR’s limited resources

How long is the list of the projects your HR team is trying to deliver this year?

One HR leader I spoke to recently said it was 30 – and their HR leadership team couldn’t agree between them on which were the top priorities.

Every part of HR – business partnering, CoE’s, shared services – have their own lists, he said. They all think their projects are the most important.

How can you select which will add most value?

Ask the business.

When you’re trying to manage your sparse resources, the toughest decisions can be those that involve your favourite projects.

But some projects are about what HR thinks the business needs, rather than what the business would say are the priorities. If you asked them.

That’s what we talked about during our recent webinar ‘How to lead HR for maximum strategic impact‘.

When you do ask your business stakeholders how they see the top activities on your list, it also enables you to identify the activities that you can say no to. If they don’t add value, don’t do them, and you’ve got the business case to drop them.

On the other hand, if it’s a new investment like tech or leadership development, you’ve already built your influencing strategy.

In this interactive webinar we explore how to turn HR into a business-led function, with real-life experiences and hard-won learning from Asad Husain who’s been CHRO 4 times and led several HR transformations.

Please contact us for a complimentary meeting to discuss your own situation and become clearer about what you want to achieve and how to do it.
