I can hardly believe it. My book ‘Empowering HR’ is now available to pre-order on Amazon, published 11 March. Dave Ulrich endorses it and great feedback from HR and CEO test readers have been a huge boost – thank you all.
They’ve called it ‘readable’, ‘relatable’, ‘thought-provoking’, ‘inspiring’ and Dave Ulrich generously said ‘I learned from it’. They enjoyed my real-life stories of learning when I got it wrong as well as got it right, and the questions to guide self-insight.
I kick off with a chapter on the changes in the world of work that are building into a perfect storm. HR can truly climb in this landscape.
I then share our research into what businesses want from HR, and use the framework of our 7 HR Enablers to explore the choices HR can make about how they operate.
It’s about partnering with the business, whatever the job title or level:
‘HR cannot succeed alone. It can deliver only when its work is embraced, embedded and lived by leaders and managers across the organisation. The critical factor is HR’s relationships.’
Thanks go to my dear friend Lisa-Jayne Wyatt Sherman who said recklessly one day ‘you should write a book’, and to Mindy Gibbins-Klein and Panoma Press who turned it into a reality.
If you felt empowered, what would you dream of doing?
