How to build a business-led HR strategy

In order to align HR’s activities to business priorities, HR has to turn its traditional approach upside down.

This virtual workshop will equip and inspire you to:

  • Deepen your business acumen
  • Build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders that enable you to create alignment in your thinking
  • Align and market HR’s strategic priorities in a way that wins support from business leaders.

This workshop is for HR leaders who want to:

  • Ensure that their work is fully aligned with business strategy, and therefore provides the optimum ROI.
  • Build more strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and have more business-driven conversations with them – these will lead to a business-driven HR strategy.
  • Prove the value of HR’s work and explain exactly how it relates to, and helps to achieve, business priorities.
  • Build their credibility as leaders of the business as well as of HR.

During this workshop we use our 7 HR Enablers (endorsed by Dave Ulrich) to structure your thinking:

  • How to view your business from the business perspective (rather than HR’s) and how to get this across in your HR strategy.
  • Deepen connections with senior stakeholders and get their input. Who are your priority connections? Which colleagues and stakeholders are key to you delivering results in HR? When are the opportunities you can identify, or create, to build your personal relationship with them?
  • Building your influence with key people and create a productive and mutually rewarding network.
  • Achieving balance and alignment despite differing stakeholder needs.
  • Targeting your energies and resources on the activities that deliver business success.
  • Identifying the priorities and issues that affect where and when to push forward or back and what are the risks and rewards
  • How to clearly set out boundaries, like goals, measures and values, and also resource constraints, so that stakeholders know where they stand with you.
  • Setting up key measures so that HR can prove their effectiveness and invest resources where they deliver best results
  • How we can continually build our credibility and how we are regarded.
