I’m sure we all agree that the world will never be the same again. This kind of dramatic change inevitably leads to learning and growth – the kind where you look back in years to come and realise just how powerful it was, however painful at the time.
‘Inability to learn and grow’ is the top reason that would make the people in a 2018 survey (below) look for another job. Could this massive change also mean opportunities for the kind of growth that we cherish? There’s also the view that the best learning is ‘in the flow of work’. How can we capitalise, consciously, on what we’re learning as we adapt?
Let’s take home working – it means a dramatic shift for most people, and I’m finding that many people are liking it. We’re finding new ways of working, balancing the different parts of our lives in a new way, and self-managing. It may also be that things look different from your home office – some distance can help us to see more clearly.
So, let’s celebrate what we’re learning. There are some great life lessons in life as well as in work. What have you learned that you know will stay with you?
